Thanksgiving weekend is over.
Karolina is back at school again. She left on Sunday, but we’ll see her soon again. Very soon, as a matter of fact.
Karolina is doing much better now, but we can call this Thanksgiving-break a “sick break” for our girl.
It is a good thing that she’s always in happy spirits despite feeling lousy.
However, I hope that she will stay healthy now for a long time *knock on wood*.
And, this long weekend has been a good one.
I can honestly say that I love Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving Thursday is full of traditions, from breakfast in bed to Thanksgiving dinner to the first Christmas movie of the season.
In Reston Town Center. I love these big, red Christmas ornaments.
The color scheme of this Christmas in the town center is green and turquoise.
Black Friday is Black Friday.
Yes, we did get Karolina a new iPhone that day, but we did not stand in any crazy lines, it was a quick in and out. She really needed a new phone, her old 5S was old and tired, so tired actually that it only worked when it felt like it. So a brand new iPhone got purchased for the girl (an early Christmas gift).
Black Friday for US is a day spent in Reston Town Center. Our downtown area here in Reston.
It is also a day spent with good friends.
We did see a tiny bit of the parade, but it was SO packed and I did not get any good pictures of it.
Yes, we met our friends for lunch and that was great, as always. I simply love this tradition.
A movie, too!!
The movie we saw will be a new Christmas CLASSIC för US, Daddy’s Home 2. SO much better than the first one, so much Christmas and craziness in it. Our kind of sick humor. Great actors!
Drinks and dinner with our friends Susanna, Marc and Keith followed. Melanie came along, too (Susanna’s and Marc’s daughter and Karolina’s good friend. Karolina and Melanie are like cousins, they have known each other since 1998 when Melanie was born and Karolina had just turned 2 years old)
So, Black Friday the way we do it is the way to do it!
The ginger bread village inside The Hyatt Hotel in Reston Town Center.
The Christmas tree in Reston Town Center is magnificent every year!
The decorations in the Town Center differ year to year.
This year the color scheme is in the turquoise, greenish scale. I think it is lovelier when they feature more traditional colors, but that is probably just me …(I am a traditional Christmas freak, as you all know)
Anyway, an impressive tree, as always.
Yes--say no more--this Christmas tree!!!
Saturday was the BIG decorating and fixing day in my humble abode.
Yes, folks, it is Christmas in my house now. FULL blown Christmas.
All is up.
Yes, pleased and LOVING it!!
Pics later on this week.
We got our Christmas tree on Saturday. I LOVE the look of Christmas trees on car roofs this time of the year. Makes me so happy!!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!
