The Fourth of July!
A big holiday and celebration here in the US today! Huge!
A fun day!
A day with a lot of cheer and good vibes all around.
Actually it is one of my favorite American holidays.
Since, The Fourth is on a Tuesday this year, a lot of people took yesterday off. So the past weekend, up until tomorrow, is treated like a long holiday weekend.
Works for me!
Love how all Americans, newly arrived and the Americans that have been here for generations (like Peter’s family), celebrate today!
It is a RED, WHITE and BLUE day!
Lots of flags. Lots of patriotism! In a good way!
People have celebrated America this whole weekend. There has already been a lot of concerts and parades in honor of America.
But, today is the biggest day! AS it should be. Independence Day!!
We’re having a party here at my place.
Will be nice!
Barbecue, beer, water melon, blueberries and strawberry short cake. Oh, and lots of US-songs on Spotify!
Because, why not!?
Captain America outside a house here in Reston, funny.
Thank you, US, for being so good to me.
I call you my home. And, I love you!
I love the place where I live. I am so happy to live right here, in Washington DC (Northern Virginia). This is such a diverse and multi-cultural area.
I love all the nationalities that are surrounding me on a daily basis.
The diversity makes me happy. And, I am a little piece of the cultural mural as well. I am not American, I am not from here. I am an immigrant, like so many other people I interact with on a daily basis.
But, I want to thank America for always being so welcoming, so warm and SO interested in my own Scandinavian background. I have never experienced racism. No, I have always felt most welcome in this wonderful, beautiful, crazy, big country. I am happy to live here, even though I am not a fan of the current administration at ALL.
But, I am sure all smart Americans will make it work, and that it shall pass.
Again, thank you to you, USA, you are one of my two home countries!
