I hope your weekend was a great one.
I turned 51 on March, 12. Yes, this past Sunday.
What a strange number. WUT? Me? 51?
But, that is the way the cookie crumbles, guys. I am that old.
However, it is not that old in the grand scheme of life.
Sunday morning in my kitchen, and fifty one years old.
Karolina posted this pic on Facebook when she congratulated me. Karolina was 6 months old, and I was 30 years old. The pic is taken on a super warm January day in Old Town Alexandria here in NoVA. Yes, 20 years ago ...
I am happy to be around, and happy to be fairly healthy.
Peter made me a wonderful breakfast on Sunday morning. We did succeed in making really good western omelettes. I think it is HARD to make a good, and good looking, omelette.
Peter got me some good hiking clothes and stuff for the garden.
And, I also got a new iPhone 7 as well.
I think the new phone will be a good one. Oh, sure, I picked the rose-gold one, of course I did!
It will be interesting to try out the camera on that phone. It is said to be so good, so we’ll see …
IT is NICE to come down to a table looking like this one!
It turned OUT!!
I did not throw a birthday party this time around.
Hey, it is not that important when you’re 51. On the other hand I threw a hell of party when I turned 50, as you may remember.
Peter, Keith and I went to Eddie V’s on Saturday night. Again, that place is AWESOME and fantastic!
The food is brilliant. And, this time around something went wrong with our wine order, and it wasn’t even a minor mistake. Service minded as they are they did not charge us for the wine. AT ALL!!
And, they treated me to dessert!
I SO recommend Eddie V’s if you live in the US. NO, this is NOT a sponsored post. At all. I just think they are fabolous, and that the food they serve is TOP NOTCH (I am picky at restaurants) plus that the service is SO top of the line.
It is COLD here, folks.
Actually, when you’re reading this I think it is snowing here. Yes, that is true, we are expecting a BLIZZARD today.
It is so incredible weird. In the middle of March? In Washington?
But, alas, that is what we have to deal with today and tomorrow.
Fun times. Or not.
I put the new iPhone to the test right away. Yes, this will be just fine. The pics are all taken yesterday. It was SO cold, and dark. Yes, we did switch over to Daylights Savings Time (sommartid) over the weekend. DEEP, fat sigh ...
Look at the budding cherry blossoms. Oh, I so HOPE they will survive the cold snap and all the snow.
I want snow in December, January and February. I crave snow and cold temps during the winter. This winter we got NONE!
So, as far as I am concerned the snow should stay the HELL away from here now.
Everything is in bloom, or about to bloom. It is SO cold, and on top of everything we’ll get a thick layer of snow.
Poor budding trees, POOR cherry blossoms (they might even be in danger, according to the National Park Service), POOR flowers and POOR people.
The kids might be happy, though. They will get their first snow day OF THE YEAR.
Yes, so that is the situation in my neck of the woods this Tuesday.
Tomorrow it might be a very snowy post. Yup, weird and twisted, don’t I know it …
Have a good one, y’all!!
