So, the weekend is over.
It was a good one, as it usually is.
Good food. Good activities. Good rest.
I made Ina Garten’s Coq au Vin on Friday and it was so incredibly tasty.
As usual, I forgot to photograph it.
I have got to get WAY better when it comes to photographing the food I am making.
Saturday was beautiful, and cold.
Peter and I took a long walk along Lake Thoreau and we also trekked into the woods. We had breakfast at Starbuck's as well. It felt so great being out in the 20 degree weather, around -6 on the centigrade scale.
Peter in the woods. I like all our hardwood trees, they make for great photo ops.
Clear, blue and cold!
It is rare that we go out to dinner these days. I prefer eating at home. Better food, cheaper and a lot cozier.
But, Peter felt like going out to a restaurant on Saturday night.
So, we did. It was good, and the food was tasty.
But, you know, I still think eating at home makes a lot more sense (I am becoming old and comfortable. I do hear myself).
And these two pics are from yesterday. A totally "kick-ass-lovely-splendid" morning ...
Sunday Peter went to see the Oscar nominated movie, Arrival. He liked it. I did not feel like coming along.
Sci-fi is really not my cup of tea.
I was watching Counting On on TLC GO on my Apple TV för hours.
OMG, that show is TRULY my guilty pleasure. NOW, I have outed myself to you all.
The Duggar family FASCINATES me in so many ways.
They live a life so different from my own life. Their values are not my values. At all.
But, I find them so mesmerizing.
You know, how can you even have 19 children? The spin-off series Counting On is following the older Duggar kids in their daily life.
Some are married now with kids on their own.
Some of them are in so called courtships.
It is a perfect escape for me watching them. I have to have these kind of escapes, away from the crazy, dark and depressing times we’re in the US are experiencing now.
WHAT is your guilty pleasure on TV? Come on, spill the beans!!
A guilty pleasure is something you are a little bit (or a lot) EMBARRASSED to confess.
And, then there was Super Bowl on Sunday.
We got invited to Susanna’s and Marc’s place. As always. A true tradition.
Thanks Susanna and Marc. It was great, as usual.
Susanna's Facebook picture.
I really do not care about American Football. But I do like everything surronding the Super Bowl; the excitement, the parties and the festivities. And, yes, of course the food!!
I made a super good queso with ground sausage. SO good.
The hosting couple treaded us to wonderful chili.
The outcome of the game came as a shocker. Boston won. Pretty Boy Brady is the best football player of all times in the US.
Have a great Tuesday, you all!
And, do NOT forget to tell ME about YOUR TV-guilty pleasure. Looking forward to see a few good confessions amongst you commentators today!
And, dudes ... Yesterday was like spring here in my neck of the woods. I sat outside with my morning coffee (after my PW). It was SOOOO warm in front of my house.
