Halloween came and went.
A good day, as always.
I have really come to love this American holiday. A fun day for kids of all ages including Yours Truly.
Also, a day you can celebrate no matter what religion you are (well, even though I know of a few very religious families that would never, ever dream of celebrating anything Halloween. But, I think those people ARE very rare, after all.).
So, needless to say, a good day.
Yesterday's Insta-pic. Oh yes, the pumpkin IS arranged :-). I carried the little pumpkin in my pocket during yesterday's walk. As you can see the weather is nice.
Even though I do not have any kids living at home I still carve pumpkins. These are the pumpkins Peter and I carved for Halloween.
Peter's owl. So cute!
There was plenty of candy around to hand out to little ghosts, goblins, fire men and princesses, too.
It is good to stock up on candy, the only problem is that you tend to have a LOTS of leftovers, after the fact.
Not good, not good at all. American candy (in my opinion) is really nothing to go HOOPLA-HOOO about. Nope, peeps, I can easily say no THANK YOU to most American sweets (I like jelly beans, Swedish fish, Twix and Reese’s peanutbutter cups. But, that's it. Hershey’s chocolate? Tastes like … puke… (Sorry to my American fellas for those harsh words) is boring and nothing that I ever crave. But Peter likes Hersheys, Crunch Bars, Kit Kats and M&Ms.
Candy bowls before the fact. The left one is filled with "fun size" candies, mini versions of their bigger peers. The right one is filled with full size candy bars. We handed out the full size bars first.
The weather yesterday was kind of on the cool side.
It was 80F (28C) on Sunday. Yesterday it was 60F (14C) and windy. And, of course, as soon as the sun set it got much cooler.
BUT, it was sunny and nice during the day, as it is most of the time here in the fall.
However, the trick or treaters arrive after dark, as they should.
I also checked out the "competition" in the neighborhood.
AND that is ALWAYS fun.
This ONE is creepy!!!
I hope you all had a great Halloween!
Now … Three weeks until Thanksgiving…
Have a good Tuesday!
