I took a break from the blog yesterday due to the fact that we were on the road ALL Sunday long.
That trip went well.
Peter and I left Reston at 04:55, and we returned home at 20:00.
Fifteen hours on the road!!
All went well. ALL went good.
THANK you for that, higher powers!!
The weather was perfect all day. Sunny and crystal clear. When we drove south the moon stood full over the mountains in the west. At the same time, the sun was rising in the east. Fantastic!! It was a perfect silver landscape.
However, we did not stop to take any pictures (I know, a SHAME!!!). The only stop we made was at IHOP (international house of pancakes) for breakfast.
We reached Elon at 11:30.
We had lunch with these lovely ladies. Karolina and Katie. Katie is going to be Karolina's room mate come August.
Elon was cold and blustery when we got there, but beautifully sunny.
It's Christmas decorated there now. But, since we were only there mid-day we did not see it lit. It is supposed to be stunning after dark. I do believe it.
Wait, is it April or December? Look at the blooming trees. I have seen these trees here in Reston as well (not this year, though). They bloom several times a year. Strange.
An optical illusion, warped lines.
These Hellebores where blooming everywhere around campus. Lovely! Julrosor!!
Bye bye Elon!! See you in January!!
Friday night I made glögg-martinis.
Oh my, so tasty!!
Here is the recipe for you Swedish speaking folks!
Yesterday we were all kind of sluggish.
I wrote this post while sitting by the kitchen table. It is good to enjoy some candles on a grey, sluggish December day!!
