The town also has it fair share of wineries.
The couple that invited us on this tour had rented a limo! And, yes, that was a VERY nice way to go!
The couple had also set up private wine tastings for us at the two vineyards we were visiting.
I am so thankful that Peter and I were able to tag along.
Thank you Kelly and John!!
The weather this past Sunday was PERFECT! Crisp, and cool and so sunny. A great day for a wine tour!
Well, it is not every day that I get to travel in a limo, let me tell you!!
Inside the car!
Here we are at the first vineyard, Zephania. The couple that owns it also lives here (as it is almost every time). They live in this house, and they welcome visitors every Saturday and Sunday into their own private space This place really spoke to me, I loved it!!! I so want to go back! And the wine? IT was good, as a matter if fact!
Here we are in the library where we had our wine tasting. The owner is the woman holding the bottle. She was just so nice, so pleasant. She said that she really likes living on a vineyard, running it and holding tastings. She works as a teacher during the week, but has visitors every weekend in her home, strangers, like us. Fantastic. But, she says that they (the owners) take January and February off (they close the vineyard for visitors then, just to breathe a bit). I don't blame them! We felt so welcome here!!
The home! From 1820. Yes, we also heard about a couple of ghosts that reside here. I love, love. love this house!!!
The back of the home. SO serene, just a small country road and then just the country side.
Grapes, straight from the vineyard. Grapes and plenty of bees...
Time to leave. However, I will be back...
Here we are at the second Winery, Stone Tower Winery. The place had a totally different vibe to it. Bigger, more commercialized, posher, newer in every regard. Yes, the family lives here as well. It is stunning and beautiful in every regard, and you just want to hang out in the front yard.
Or, you can just hang out inside! COZY!!
The vineyard has different, nice seating arrangements everywhere.
This is our group in the middle of a flight of wines. The wine? Ummmm...maybe not the best. BUT, the atmosphere here is awesome! A very popular place! A place to hang out for an afternoon with mediocre wine, great views and fantastic ambiance.
Here is the wine-group!!
I am so happy to have discovered two new wineries. I did like the first one the best, in every regard. BUT, I would absolultely return to the second one as well.
Thankful to live in an area that contains so many lovely wineries. It is so fun to go visit these places. All are beautiful, sometimes the wine is not so good. But, it is FUN regardless. It is a perfect weekend outing.
Especially in the fall!
Have a good one!!!
