Graduation may be over.
But, my thoughts of that day ARE not over. I think about graduation day, and even our party, a lot.
It was beautiful!
I have said this before BUT I shall say it again; my GOD, in the US they really know how to make graduations GRAND!
I love it!
I JUST LOVE IT!!
Everything so well rehearsed, the kids are so behaved, nothing went wrong.
Just a pure joy to take part of.
Now I can look forward to Peter’s nieces and nephews graduations in a couple of years.
One of my dear friends snapped this picture of Karolina as she received her diploma Wednesday night.
After graduation most of the kids in Karolina’s class headed for the All Night Grad Party at South Lakes High School.
ANGP is a party that is free of drugs and alcohol, naturally. It is purely run by parents and volunteers. And all the money for it is raised thru fund-raising. A huge, huge (and very expensive) ordeal.
And, oh boy, did that party impress me, too!!
The kids had so many activities to pick from that night: they could play in the casino! My own daughter cleared the Texas Hold’em table. You all know she is a true card shark, all thanks to my card-crazy family. My parents taught Karolina—and her cousins—how to play poker when Karolina was around 8 years old. WAY to go mamma and pappa!!! :-)
The kids could also visit a spa, they had artist there drawing caricature portraits of them, they had a photo booth, a huge dining hall with foods and drinks, and they could play trivia games + that they had HUGE slides etc in the gym. And, of course there was a disco with a DJ.
A night to remember for the outgoing seniors.
I was there to photograph the kids. I was one of 8 photographers.
What a fun job I had!
The entrance was set up as a cruise ship. So as the kids walked thru its doors they got a leis around their neck, then they walked the “gangway” to the entrance of the school. I was standing at the end of that gangway taking pictures of ALL arriving kids. True cruise ship photography style. You know, just as when you enter a cruise on the first day and the photographers snap a pic of you. I had such a fun job!
And to my left a band played “beach/cruise music”.
THAT put me in a perfect mood. The night was SO hot, muggy and humid with heat lightning in the sky. But I did not mind the weather. I just enjoyed the rest of it; the kids and their happiness!!
I am SO very, very, very glad that I volunteered for this event. And, that I got the best job! Well, in my book, at least!! I saw them all! I snapped a pic of ALL of them.
The cruise ship is about to set sail!
The colors of South Lakes!
Karolina and Kristin!
Have a good day, y’all!!
