Two more days at home until it is time for the next trip!
LOADS of snow here in Reston, VA!
I really cannot take my PW's as I usually do. Maybe I should work out in the basement instead?
Anyway, we had a really good trip to beautiful Connecticut the past weekend.
The drive to CT was really no big problems. The roads were dry especially later in the drive.
WELL, we did have a problem with pot holes up north, let me tell you! A big, fat pot hole problem (Pot holes---gropar i vägen som uppstår under vintern då väglaget spricker). We had to watch out for said holes all the time, and I don't know how many we actually hit with the car. Poor tires.
Yes, we have a pot hole problem here in NoVA, too. However, it is safe to say that it was worse up north.
GAAHHH!!! POT HOLES, you gotta hate them!!!
The view from our hotel in Hartford.
We arrived in Hartford, CT on Valentine's Day, in the evening!
My darling hubby had ordered champagne and strawberries, prior to our arrival, that were waiting for us in the hotel room. SO sweet!
Peter, Karolina and I went for dinner at a nearby restaurant downtown.
Needles to say, it was packed!! But, we did get a table in the bar.
Here's a pic of me and the hubster. Karolina refused to show her face in this pic.
On Saturday Karolina had an audition at University of Hartford, The Hartt School.
Oh what a nice place, and oh such a great dean and instructors.
We all got really good vibes from that place.
Karolina struck up conversations with the other prospective students auditioning as well. She liked them all.
Afterwards we took a drive to University of Connecricut. We wanted to scout out the area since Karolina had an audition there Sunday morning.
UConn was beautiful!
Just a stunning campus!
Here area few pics!
A true American campus. Just another "Harry Potter world". I've seen so many, many beautiful university campuses in this country.
Two frozen souls at UConn.
On Sunday Karolina had her audition here at UConn. I am not going to write so much about it here, but we were less than pleased with it all. Enough said.
In the afternoon it started to snow. Beautiful as can be!!! But, maybe not so fun to drive in...
Snowy landscape! look at the snow clouds rolling in!
In the evening the snow picked up even more.
We were invited to Taina and her family for dinner.
Despite the storm we drove to her place.
Yes, it was a hard drive. But, we took our sweet little time and we got there just fine. THANK you 4-wheel drive! And thank you new tires!!
We had such a fun evening at their house. The house, and area, is so COZY. I fell in love with it right away.
Coziness factor galore.
Good good, good company and good conversations.
Taina is more than a blogging friend, she's a friend.
Karolina and Liisa are both equally interested in acting. So fun! We'll see if Liisa picks the same career as Karolina one day?
I only had my 50 mmm lens with me.
My new lens is coming soon. However, I will not bring the Canon with me on our next trip. I am SO limited with the 50 mm lens. The lens is perfect for portrait photography, but not so much else. I hate shooting landscapes with it.
On Thursday my old Lumix will come with me. Time to dust that fella off.
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!
