First of all!
Congrats to my brother-in-law Håkan! He ran the Stockholm Marathon on Saturday. Håkan made it in 4 hours and 6 minutes.
Way to go!
This was his second marathon. He ran it last year, as well. It was stormy then, and rainy, and only 40 degrees F. The weather WAS better this year, for sure.
SO, congrats Håkan!! GOOD job! I know that you have already decided to run the marathon next year again.
Peter ran almost a quarter of a marathon, 10 kilometers, on Sunday. :-)
It was sunny, hot and humid. The run started at 7:30, but despite the early hour it was still hot. God job, ma' man!!
SO, now Stockholm Marathon in 2015?
We have gotten our pool passes now.
I think I will use the pool(s) a lot this summer. Last year I don’t think I visited the pool(s) even once.
In Reston we have sixteen different pools to choose from. I appreciate that.
One of the many perks of living in Reston!
It is summer time. It is hot and humid, and we are only in the beginning of June.
It WILL be a long, hot---and unusual---summer for me.
The season on The Best Deck has started as well.
I love hanging out there with friends, and something cold to drink.
Something cold to drink yes...
Well, I am not such a fan of white wine, even though I drink it. I much prefer red wine. But, red wine does not taste so good in the blasting summer heat.
What white wines do you like? I am not a fan of sweet wines, so no such suggestions, please.
But, what do YOU drink on a hot summer night?
Rose? White wine? Beer? Margaritas? Cocktails?
The bbq season is upon us as well.
In the US people know their grilling and bbq’s. I love it!! If you hang out in your back yard on any given summer weekend you are sure to see (and smell) your neighbors bbq:ing.
The Fourth of July.
For the first time in 9 years I will be here “on the Fourth”. Usually I am in Sweden, or Finland, on that day.
I don't know what Peter, Karolina and I will be doing? But, it would be great to do something fun.
To go downtown DC IS a blast once you get there, but to get there on the fourth can be SUCH a pain. NOT to mention when you are leaving DC after the fireworks. NOT fun. Gridlock galore, both in traffic and on the Metro.
I would love to be at the beach on the Fourth, but that is not going to happen.
The Fourth of July is a day for TRUE bbq:ing and true American spirit.
I am looking forward to it.
Peter and I have been married 20 years on the THIRD of July!
I know. I can hardly believe it myself. The best hubby in the world!
How we’ll celebrate the day?
I have NO idea.
However, I will let you know!
Ah, this turned out to be a mixed post.
I like writing posts like these, and I certainly hope you all enjoy reading them!
Have a good Tuesday.
I will soon be out on my PW in the sun!!
