Morning dearest readers!
Yesterday we had (almost) the worst kind of weather imaginable in the DC-area. Freezing rain.
When the rain hits the ground, it turns to ice upon contact.
It can actually turn out to be quite an ice bark before all is said and done.
Well, we did not have school yesterday (teacher workdays). It is the same today, yay!
I am quite sure that the schools would have been closed yesterday if it had been a regular school day.
Today, the weather is supposed to be mild and cloudy. And, I will be visiting Tysons Corner Center with my dear daughter.
A shopping day, if you will.
So, yesterday nothing much happened.
I made Swedish pancakes, and drove Karolina to Reston Town Center in the afternoon (when the ice had turn to rain).
There is one weather phenomena that is worse than freezing rain, and that is the dreaded ICE STORM.
Ice storms are bizarre, and very beautiful. I never experienced an ice storm in Sweden. Everything "transforms into crystal" in an ice storm. Every tree branch is like glass, the cars are like glass, the roads are like glass. It is dangerous, but so pretty. A world made of crystal. It’s been a long time since we had an ice storm now, but that is just as well...
Well now, let’s have a little Flashback Tuesday, shall we!!!
The pics you'll see her today are taken with my VERY first digital camera. A Minolta that had 1,3 megapixels.
I did NOT like the digital camera back then. I was shooting with a film camera (compact) most of the time. Peter, however, got me said digital camera when I turned 34 (in 2000) and those are the pics you will see here in the post.
Annika DENYING the DIGITAL, and favoring the film!
Well, fast forward 13 years and you ALL know where I stand today.
FILM? WTF is that???
Well, that will be all, folks.
Now is time or me to take the 16 year old Karolina to Tysons Corner Center, where the stores are...
Have a good Tuesday!
