The leaves on the trees outside my window are slowly turning to red and yellow.
Summer is finally gone, and my soul feels at rest.
I love this month.
Cool, clear days.
Candles at night.
Promises of Halloween.
OUT with the summer clothes.
IN with ALL my fall/winter clothes,
My inner fashionista is a fall girl.
October also means a lot of work.
I have to de-summer my home.
Clean the windows.
Change the curtains.
Change the pillows on the couch.
Get my winter-fall blankets out.
And, of course I will have to decorate for Halloween.
Inside AND outside.
THAT takes a lot of time.
But, it is ALSO fun work!
Peter calls the winter and the fall “the dining and the wining season”.
The truth is that we cook a lot more complicated meals in the fall and in the winter.
We tend to plan the meals early in the week, then we’re enjoying them on the weekend while it gets dark outside.
Nowadays it gets dark around 18:40 at night.
I am an avid hobby photographer. And, pretty soon it will be time for me to go NUTS with my camera.
When the nature is “on fire” I WILL fire the camera left and right.
I cannot wait.
I cannot WAIT for the leaves to really turn color.
Speaking of photography.
Do you think a black and white picture “says more” than a picture in color?
Or, does it all depend?
Personally I think it is a bit hard to tell.
I think portraits usually work great in black and white.
I am torn when it comes to landscapes etc.
On the other hand it is fun to experience with the differences.
And, since we are ON the subject:
Here are Desiree's themes for Gallery Friday in October.
