In less than three weeks, I will be in Sweden.
Karolina and I will be there, to be exact.
Peter will arrive four days later.
As the trip is getting closer, we start to long for it more and more and more.
There are certain things that I miss (from the Nordic summer) more than others.
Things that are SO Scandinavian.
Without them, there would be NO summer for me.
The truth is: You can take the girl out of Scandinavia, but you can never take Scandinavia out of the girl...
Today we'll take a closer look at my hometown, Stockholm. I shot all the pics in this post in the beginning of July last year.
The summer nights in Stockholm are SO beautiful, so white, so alive...SO NORDIC!
Stockholm, goddammit, I love YOU! As you know it is one of the top five most beautiful cities in the entire world!
The City Hall is AWESOME. I have loved this building since I was a toddler...
And, the view from Sara and Håkan's balcony. Oh the view....
Swedish shrimps. I say that they have to be the best shrimps in the world! I cannot WAIT to enjoy them!!
Stockholm really IS a beauty on water. The city is built on 14 islands. In the archipelago of Stockholm you'll find 24,000 islands. It is quite unique.
Another lovely thing is to stroll around Stockholm, and when you feel like it you just sit down at an outdoor bar (by the water) enjoying a bottle of rose-wine (not my favorite wine, but SO right on a warm summer day).
All the summer drinks that my sister and brother-in-law make!
Swedish candy and chocolate!
This is the suburb where I grew up, Blackeberg (well, I lived in Hässelby the first 7 years of my life). The Lake is Lake Mälaren, the third biggest lake in Sweden.
The pics are taken around 22:00. Yes, I am crazy in love with the white nights.
And, there are walking paths everywhere!!
Oh, and did I MENTION that I am ready to start my summer vacation?
Pretty soon I will post Part Two here on the blog.
But first things first: A PW!!
Have a good Tuesday!!
