Reston 6 March 2012
I don’t know what to say to you this year.
You stood me up like there was no tomorrow.
Could you really NOT have found in your heart to deliver one decent snow storm, at least?
I have been in the States for 19 years now, and this is by far the weakest winter I have experienced! EVER!
You know what, you were more like a long fall. A fall that lasted from November to March.
Just beige, gray and mild.
Day out, and day in.
SOME days your were down right WARM. I guess you were just dumb and confused.
Needless to SAY, I am SO disappointed. SO disappointed in YOU. YOU have failed!
FAILED as a winter!
I want at least a couple of big blizzards every winter. Blizzards and snow storms make me happy during the winter. It feels normal, and I thrive in them.
I want to WALK out in a huge storm!
I WANT to feel the elements up close and personal.
I want the snow to whip in my face.
This year I had NONE of that.
Thank you SO much for that. SO very kind of you, winter.
Thanks for being so mild and so NICE!
I am being sarcastic, of course.
Look. Now you can go away!
It is March now and I do NOT want to see a single snow flake from now on.
Don’t bother. It is way too late.
Now we are going to welcome Miss Spring instead.
Winter, you can go somewhere and hide until next December.
And, for the next winter season I really hope you DELIVER!
Just to remind you on how LOUSY you were, I am posting an array of pictures from December 2011 to February 2012.
Do you feel proud of yourself when you see this?
I thought so.
PS, the flurries yesterday were just SO pathetic. As I said, DO NOT BOTHER any more. GO AWAY!
Oh, and how very wintry!! This is what I saw when I was up in NYC in December. Yes, very, very Christmassy....OR NOT!!!
Yes, you did have your frosty mornings, but that was about it. And, my roses lasted until January....
In January we got a wimpy little snow system. That was pretty much IT for the entire winter....
Yes, and in the middle of January it looked like THIS in my garden. It normally looks like this in the beginning of March....
I get SOOOO tired....
And, when I took my walk on February 19 I saw this! Yes, Daffodils in bloom! UN-heard of in February usually.
Around February 4 it really "looked a bit like spring" around here.
