And, this will be another week that will pass just as fast as last week did.
Do you like cooking?
I know most of you do. Some of you even put recipes on your blogs every now and then. And I have, too, a couple of times.
Lately, cooking has become a great hobby of mine. Well, the interest in food and cooking has started to grow stronger and stronger in recent years.
Now I am looking forward to cooking dinner almost every night, and during the weekends, I want to make more advanced dinners. It is especially fun if you can share those dinners with friends. But, even when it is just us it is fun.
I can bury myself in cookbooks for a long time, or I can seek recipes on the net for hours to find the right stuff.
My kitchen, however, is failing me. It is not efficient enough. Not big enough and I cannot fit all the gadgets that I want to use on my counters. I am dreaming of a big kitchen island with plenty of room to cook.
Recently, this was a theme on “Show and Tell”: My Dream Kitchen. “Show and Tell” is blogging on a theme that a few of us bloggers are doing every Friday. It is always so fun to read the Friday posts, look at the pictures and take a part of the blogger’s point of view.
Can I have this kitchen, pleeeeaaaseee...
Anyway, cooking is so fun! And so good!
Peter, Karolina and I go out to dinner a lot, at least once every weekend. But, I think it has become harder and harder to find good restaurants. When you go out to eat you are paying a good chunk of money, and it is very rare that you actually get what you pay for. I am getting more and more fed up with it.
Truth to be told, you make better food yourself. And you can make the surroundings as cozy and nice as you want to. During the weekends, we like to start with a drink and enjoy the drink with some little snacks, then we’ll enjoy the first course, the main course, and then we usually round it all off with dessert in front of a movie on DVD.
This is so much nicer than going out for dinner, for sure. Light up some candles, play good music and just enjoy the company whether it is just with your family, or with friends.
One of my favorite soups by the moment: creamy avocado soup with creme fraiche and caviar.

Cooking shows on TV are also VERY appealing to me! You can get so many ideas there. My number one inspiration is the Swedish TV-show “Seven thirty at my place” where four amateur chefs cook for three people they have never met before. They cook a three course meal, and then the meals get graded by the other contestants. In the end of the week, there is one winner. From said show I have gotten SOOO many ideas.
I also know that there is an American version of this show called “Dinner’s on me”. TLC has it on their schedule, but I don’t think it is in season right now as far as I can tell.
Oh, and now when it is almost spring again I feel like changing a few things around here at home again…New curtains, new carpet in the living room and new pillows. A few little changes can mean so MUCH!!
All right, people, cook on!
And, Rachael Ray, look out!!!
