Karolina had the day off yesterday. It is so nice when she has a weekday off every now and then. It is as nice for me as it is for her.
But, as I have told you before I have to stand in line, too, in order to spend time with my daughter, and as I have said in the past; I am so happy that she has so many friends.
So, yesterday we headed to The Counter Burger in Reston Town Center. One of our favorite joints. She can have an awesome burger with fries (and those fries are GOOD, and so off limits for me) and I can have my burger in a bowl, served as a salad. SO good! SO tasty!! I always chose turkey meat (if I have the option). It is leaner and just as good as beef.
We were shopping a bit too at our favorite stores. Karolina is turning in to a true shopping buddy with good, and honest, opinions.
Yes, sure, she’s been exposed to shops and malls since she was a newborn, but still…
As of yesterday I could still find some evidence of Christmas in my house. I had a friend here and she noticed some little figurines in my book case, little Santa’s and a few snow men. I haven’t noticed them until now. You tend to be blind to the stuff surrounding you.
I’ve made these little figurines myself out of sculptee clay. Maybe that was the reason I did not see them?
WHY don’t we “see” our own houses? How come I can walk by little imperfections every day? Or, maybe that is nothing but a blessing? It probably is. A 34 year old house has indeed a lot of flaws, and If I “saw” them all I would probably go nuts. And, heck, maybe the flaws are even part of the charm? I don’t know…
But, the little sculptee figurines are gone now. THEY are not part of the charm.
By the way, do you decorate for Valentine’s Day? Do you celebrate the day?
I have a few little things, maybe ten, all in all. Not more than that. But I do think red is such a nice color to display in the middle of the winter, so that might be part of the reason for my “red stuff” right now. Not the fact that Valentine’s Day lurks around the corner.
I also want to reflect more on friendships come V-day. Friendship and love…
Have a good Tuesday!
AND, another episode of the CHIT-CHAT-SHOW!!
