Tuesdays are the days I usually stay home and fix things.
That is the day I am doing my laundry, ironing and cleaning a bit around the house.
Simply, the day of the week I fix things!
During the cleaning and fixing I am always listening to the radio over the computer.
Always radio shows from Sweden. Always.
I love it.
But, recently I downloaded a really cool appt to my iPhone called Wunderradio. One of my dear readers in Connecticut told me about the appt, and how much she likes it. And, yes, it is the best! I can listen to whatever station I want in the world! I can listen over my Bose speakers and that upgrades the quality of the appt to top class.
I love it.
So fun, I truly recommend it to you people with iPhones out there.
Yesterday the Swedish broads got together for breakfast here at my place. It is always so nice to see these girls, and I am so happy to have them in my life. We are such a support group for one another, and we always have such interesting conversations.
I have known these ladies for as long as 4-17 years. It is fantastic to have them. It is so nice to have a bunch of women that you can blab to in Swedish like there is no tomorrow.
Monica, the newest member of the group, brought “semlor” with her yesterday. A semla is a pastry made out of a wheat bun, the bun is flavored with cardamom, and inside the bun there is almond paste, and you top it all off with whipped cream. It is like heaven! Traditionally you eat this pastry on Fat Tuesday before lent.
But in Sweden, being the non-religious country it mostly is, you are sure to find “semlor” in the bakeries from Christmas until Easter.
It is one of the best pastries (ever) for me to indulge in. Yes one of my biggest weaknesses in the world. It is a GOOD thing I don’t live in Sweden this time of the year since I would be tempted everywhere, and it is hardly diet food…
I have lost 22 pounds now! Eight more pounds to go. I feel like the woman in the Nutri System commercial (not that NS is the method I am using)! But I am feeeling just that light, and happy.
My neighbor thinks I should stop, but I feel like I want to go down to an even 30 pounds. Then I am more than pleased.
The best stage right now is that I can allow myself to “cheat”, without fear. I am in control, for sure. It is the best feeling in the world.
No, wait…the best feeling is that people comment on my new size and my baggy jeans. It feels sooo good.
Time to shop, girls….so damn time to SHOP!! New jeans, new clothes…
Look out here I come!!! Anthropologie, here I am ! Bring out the size 6 clothes!! Yippey!!!
Thanks to Sara-sis, my dietician sister!
But most of all, thanks to my motivation…
After an (embarrassing) episode of The Bachelor: The women tell all, I got stuck in front of the Olympics on NBC and the icedancing. Icedancing is my absolute favorite to watch in the figure skating competetions, and last night it almost made me cry! THE BEAUTY, the grace, the amazing icedancers! I sat in front of the TV until midnight, when all was said and done and Canada had taken the gold. My favorite couple, without a DOUBT was the American couple Davis and White. I have rarely seen such a flow, so fantastic! They got in second.
And the best of the best? NO commercials in the end when the last six couples skated. NONE!! That is a pure gold star for NBC in my book
Have a good Tuesday! All of you!
