Today I will continue to tell you all about the trip to NYC!
I wrote about the first part in my entry yesterday. It is in Swedish, of course, but you can always Google Translate (poor you), or simply look at the pictures.
We left Ellis Island, a truly wonderful experience to visit that island! If you go to NYC you should definitely pay Ellis Island a visit...
Anyway, as soon as we got back to Battery Park we took a cab up to City Hall, and from there we started walking the Brooklyn Bridge. To walk the bridge is something I have wanted to do for the longest time.
We did luck out with the weather while we were in NYC! It was so MILD! What a difference from last year when we almost froze to death!
The bridge next to Brooklyn Bridge is Manhattan Bridge. Also very beautiful...
I am so happy that we have crossed this bridge! And, I am also so glad that the weather really was so mild and nice. To walk the bridge on a cold day cannot be all that pleasant.
When we we had walked the bridge we took a cab back to the hotel, and there we changed clothes and took off for Marriot Marquis. We wanted to visit their sky-bar, but the bar did not open up until 4 PM. Instead we took our drinks in the hotel's Atrium Bar and that is not quite the same...
We had reservations at db Bistro Moderne at 5 PM, and that place was such a nice surprise. We had a super good meal there! We were so impressed and I would recommend it to anybody!
We ended the evening seeing the musical Shrek! All of us liked it!
Afterwards we walked back to the hotel. I love NYC partly because it is such a pedestrian friendly city. You can walk everywhere and I so appreciate it!
Needless to say we fell fast asleep as soon as our heads hit the pillows that night...
We checked out from our hotel and walked to my blogging friend's Saltis place on the far east side of Manhattan!
Saltis and her husband M had invited us to brunch. It was so nice to see them, and to chat the hours away!
As always the visit was way too short, and I wish we could have spent more time together!
Saltis and I have gotten to know each other thru our blogs! This was the third time we met up, and once again I just have to praise the blogging world! Look at all the new friends that I have made thru this blog, and other blogs! Power!
I really hope that Saltis, M and little Ella will come down and visit us in DC soon!
Pictures taken on the walk over to Saltis apartment...
Saltis and M...
AND, a lot of the Swedish readers know Ella from Saltis blog!! Ella's so cute!!!
Thanks guys for welcoming us into your home!
We had to take off for Penn Station around 1 PM.
And, the train ride back to DC was fine, but it got so long in the end.
We were incredibly sleepy once we got back to Reston again.
Now we're looking forward to our next trip up to the most exciting city on earth!
Luckily we live so close to it, so I hope our next visit will happen sooner than later!
Have a great Tuesday!!
