Peter, Karolina, Keith and myself took off Friday night for the Eastern Shore.
And, we have had such a NICE weekend!
Great condo! (Peter "screwed" up the reservation, but we got a great 2 bedroom condo overlooking the beach instead of a hotel room---GREAT).
Not too hot, not humid--perfect.
Great temperature in the water, 75 degrees.
Great spot on the beach!
I have some pix to prove it. Wanna see?
The view from our condo---
They are swimming, and I thought the waves were WAY too rough. I don't like big, rough waves at all (makes me scared, coward as I am).
Oh, and Ocean City is such a commercialized beach...Not really my style. At all (but all was still nice, of course). You'll find high rise upon high rise upon high rise...
In Ocean City you will find the city's very famous boardwalk! It is trashy, fun, fascinating and vulgar at the very same time ... And, this is THE place to people watch!
The Boardwalk is also famous for its fries!! Karolina had some, and they were so good. Now all carbs (except fruits and veggies) are off limits for me for a while (on a diet, as you readers know). I had ONE of Karolina's fries, and BOY were they GOOD!!!!
And in the candy stores in OC you are sure to find these kind of fish :-). I feel right at home ;-)
Salt Water taffy is an American candy classic and you will find them at any given beach in the US.
Do you guys think that Peter will have to get a t-shirt like this in a couple of years?
And you can buy beer...
This band entertained the crowds at the beach bar at the "After Beach Party" by our condo every afternoon...
Check out the beach babe!! I SOOOO brought the wrong outfits with me :-)
No, the palm trees are not "real". Palm trees do not grow naturally in Maryland. These trees get planted every spring.
But the blogger herself is as real as can be...
Saturday evening we went to Seacrets Bar...An absolute hot spot in OC...
The bar is right by the shore, bay side. CROWDED as can be! LOADS of people. Party atmosphere grande. Loud. Kinda too much...BUT fun to see!
Yes, there are tables and seats IN the water as well as rafts where you can hang out with your friends! VERY popular to do happy hours here and watch the sun set in the west.
We are a bit more modest, and a heck of a lot older (and younger) than most of the patrons...
And when we left yesterday the weather had turned around. It was stormy, gray and a bit rainy. A perfect day to leave the beach.
To get to, and from, the Eastern Shore you have to drive the Bay Bridge over Chesapeake Bay. The bridge is HUGE and quite intimidating. I am glad that I was not the driver...
And today is Tuesday, as well as the FIRST DAY of school! I wish it was still summer vacation. I so enjoy having Karolina at home.
AND TODAY I am heading out for my Power WALK...It's been almost three months since my last PW. Needless to say I will be HURTING tomorrow. But from now on PW's, or the gym, will be part of my daily routine....
HAVE a very good Tuesday!
