Yes, today's entry will have to be short, but probably not so sweet. Or?
I have gotten a pretty bad head-cold. That cold just jumped on me Saturday night. And you guys know of the regular boring symptom's...
I will not bore you with them, I promise.
But I have such a hard time sleeping when sick. I am so sleep deprived right now. At night I have to go in to the guest-room because I am so awake. I don't sleep in the guest room, instead I read--for hours. Every time I get a cold these days it comes with an annoying cough that keeps me awake. ANNOYING!!
Peter's company had their Christmas party yesterday and it was very NICE! Despite my cold. We were in The Tower Club in Tyson's, a really nice place with views of Virginia, DC and Maryland.
It was so nice to meet Peter's co-workers, and to hear what a great boss Peter is.
Peter lives a life for about ten hours every day that I have zero part in. I don't know what's going on in that life, I don't know how he is as a co-worker and a boss. We live totally separate lives for most of the day. Yes, of course he TELLS me about it, but still... So it makes it so fun, and so INTERESTING for me to see, and talk, to his team and his CEO, and the rest of his co-workers. And I get so proud when I hear them praise Peter (Peter if you're reading this, don't get embarrassed).
An international crowd of people it is. The CEO is French, the president is Swedish, a super nice guy! Many French people work for the company, many Swedish people, many Britt's and of course mostly Americans. But yesterday I got to speak Swedish to at least three people, two Swedes and one Swedish speaking Finnish-Swede. The Finnish-Swede wanted me to speak the "Närpes"-language with him. But, I just laughed and said that he probably does not want to hear my home-made version of the dialect. He just laughed and said that he would not know the difference since he is from Helsinki himself.
So we had a nice cocktail hour, a very good dinner with door-prices (Peter did not win anything). After dinner the dancing started, and yes, one guy actually did dance on the table! All were laughing. Peter wasn't tempted, though...Maybe not so good if one of the boss-guys dance on the table. Or actually maybe it would be a good thing to see the executive team up on the tables?
Anyway, a very nice and fun party even though I was not perfectly up to par.
Yesterday Karolina played her beloved SIMS game on my computer, as always. And the game CRASHED!! Yes, it CRASHED! It is awful the see that grey box with a red X saying that something on your computer has CRASHED!!!
Keith came over to watch Karolina last night, and he could not re-store the game, and he tried everything. I just think it is so strange that a PC-game can crash. So, now I know that I have to go out and get another version of SIMS-2 for Christmas, and hopefully that will be fine. This game has always had it's hick-ups i.e freezing, but I never thought it would crash and die.
My God, it gives me a creepy feeling---What if my laptop is going to crash! What an ultimate nightmare that would be. The laptop is only two years old and I hope it will live a little bit longer;
SO, my dear Sony Vaio, be very nice to me....You are a hard-working and good machine, I know, and continue to be that way...
Now I am about to crash--in bed!
Have a good and healthy Tuesday!
